From sea to plate...

An interesting set of photos in the Guardian follows the story of a turbot from sea to plate.

We explored the different ratings on some fish for their sustainability.
Cod has a rating of 4, which means stocks are low, and other fish could be eaten instead.
Turbot has a rating of 3 if line caught, so is a better option.

This illustrated photo story approach could be used in other projects, for example our research of our items that we have been carrying out.

Back to the Fish Fight

Fish Fight was/is a website which was looked at by some Year 7 groups this week. It was a campaign organised by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, with a supporting TV programme, which aimed to stop the practice of DISCARDS: fish being thrown back into the water, often dead, because they couldn't be landed.
