Historical documents in Geography
Miss Furness passed this amazing resource (and another) to us in the Geography department yesterday. It's an original contemporary copy from 1913 of the Daily Mirror and records Scott's death and the discovery of his body.

KEJ Reading Festival
The week of the 14th of October is the Reading festival. Literacy will be featured in all lessons with a focus on books which support the curriculum.
We are going to be looking at Polar literature and adventure in Year 7 and 8, and books on cities in Year 9.
The Geography department will also be having an after-school event with author Alan Parkinson, who also happens to teach at King's Ely, and also happens to be me...
