Although I won't be teaching much GCSE Geography next year, I aim to help out colleagues as appropriate with teaching, local field visits and fieldtrips further afield, revision sessions etc.
The department that I will be joining teaches the OCR 'B' Specification.
This is quite a good specification, with some useful units and topics to connect with the planned KS3 curriculum and build on it.
Matt Podbury's Geography Pods site also supports teachers who use this specification, and it has a range of excellent resources which will certainly find some use in our department.
One of the things that I'm going to try to do is to get involved in some homework tasks which can be undertaken by students in various new ways.
It'll be an interesting GCSE journey and I'll be blogging some of the activity here....
