Inspiration places - which are yours?

During the 125th anniversary year of the GA, I tried to collate a list of 125 inspirational places using a Google Form. I didn’t quite get enough places, so never did anything with the responses I got in the end.

Check out the Inspirational Places website that I created for a project I did with Professor Peter Knight as well.

Perhaps it’s now time to try to get a good set of responses so that I can share them and use them next time I teach my Landscapes topic, which needs a little more

Please go to the form here and tell me about an inspiration place that is worth visiting in the UK.

Climate and Nature Emergencies

Tonight, the Channel 4 News team have a special Climate Leaders Debate at 7pm.

Not all the leaders are quite as concerned about the climate emergency it seems, but our young people are.
What are their thoughts on the growing climate and nature emergencies facing our planet, not by the end of the century, but within the next few decades.
The UN report yesterday made it clear that warming is irreversible.

I'm part of a group of Geographers who have come together under the name Geographers for Life.
We have put together a poll which we would like to reach as many people as possible.

Follow us on our new Twitter feed @Geo4Life and share the link to the poll.

Please facilitate your students having the chance to answer it if possible over the next week. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Adventure Landscapes: a Google Form to kick off the year...

We're kicking off the Year 7 teaching with a unit on Adventure Landscapes based on the work that Noel Jenkins did for the RGS-IBG contribution to the Geography Teaching Today website.
These resources can now be obtained from the RGS website itself HERE.

I've put together a Google Form on the theme of Adventure landscapes: the activities you've done and the landscapes that you'd like to visit and return to...

Please fill in the questions below if you have a moment. It will take less than a minute and my students and I would be really grateful... Please also feel free to fill it in if you ARE a student...

We'll be looking at the results at some point in the next few weeks.
