- walk on the Solheimajokull glacier
- travel along the coast, and to the area affected by the Eyjafjallajokull eruption of 2010
- exploring the city of Reykjavik
- seeing erupting geysers
- visiting the point where the North American tectonic plate meets the Eurasian plate
- a chance to see the Northern Lights if the forecast is positive
