Rocking and rolling...

Rocks and the Rock Cycle have been featuring in Year 7 over the last few weeks as the groups have been exploring the three types: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic.

We explored the formation of some of these, and made use of 'This is Geography 2' to support the work as appropriate.

We showed the Rock Cycle animation on the KS3 Bitesize site. This has some fun animated sections and, although it simplifies a little of course, provides a good summary of the key ideas...
You can watch it again here... the video can al
so be downloaded.

We then played the RIDE the ROCK CYCLE game: a spot of team-teaching with Miss Kyndt along the way, as we worked through the story of our rocks. Google that phrase to find the original sheets and instructions...

I decided to be Sandy the Sandstone from Birmingham....

In the absence of a DICE I used the DECIDE NOW app
And just to finish... there's a nice piece of work here from PM in my form...
